Jean Francois was born and raised in Switzerland. He is a third generation wine grower, where he worked with his father who has managed the same Vinyard for 30 years.

Jean Francois knew from a young age that he always wanted to make world class wines, and he has degrees in enology and viticulture. He interned in Switzerland, Germany & Napa. after graduating he made wine in Spain & Switzerland.  His experience and meticulous wine making brought his attention to the famed ‘Heinz Cellars’ in Napa where he spent four years.  Pepper Bridge then lured him to Walla Walla to be their creative force. He is still their wine maker.  His success at Pepper Bridge  has allowed him to partner with Amavi  and to apply his skills to different varietals , particularly Syrah & Semillion.
