Fran's Chocolate's 40th Anniversary Tasting - An SVCI Exclusive

Join us in celebrating the 40th Anniversary with a live virtual tasting led by Founder Fran Bigelow. This live tasting is exclusive to the Sun Valley Culinary Institute.

Inspired by a life-changing trip to Paris, Fran opened her first shop, Fran’s Patisserie and Chocolate Specialties, in Seattle’s Madison Valley in 1982. As her reputation grew, so did the lines of customers. During the holidays when wait times were especially long, Fran treated her guests to freshly made chocolate truffles. These truffles became incredibly popular, and over time chocolate confections became her focus.

In the 40 years since, Fran has built a loyal following around her elegant mastery of chocolate. Recognized as a pioneer of the artisanal chocolate movement, Fran has been named The best overall chocolatier in the United States by The Book of Chocolate, and Outstanding Fine Chocolatier — North America by the Fine Chocolate Industry Association.

Today Fran’s Chocolates is a world class chocolate company with four Seattle area retail shops and two international shops in Japan.

From the tantalizing light ganache found in her luscious truffles, to the bold and slightly addictive gray and smoked salt caramels, take a moment to note the textures and harmonious flavors that layer themselves, one on top of the other. It is the magic of this experience that compels Fran’s to continue to seek the extraordinary.

Place your order by November 9th. You will pick up your box of chocolates at SVCI and receive Zoom Information. The tasting will take place on November 17th at 6pm.
